Killing two brids with one stone, the Japanese Mountaineering Association asked Tondé to set for the national championships that will be held in Nagano.
Tondé will be in Japaon to work with the japanese team on very spécific types of boulders, as requested by their coach.
After the success of the French Youth Boulder Nationals for which he was chief, Tondé had been invited to be part of the team setting for on of the 2 only bouldering EYC this season. This will be the first time the 12 blocs in 5 tries format will be used in an international competition.
Tondé will be setting his third Boulder World Cup of the season in Munich with Serik Kazbekov as the chief and Maxi Klaus and Manuel Brunn both of germany.
Thibaut, Laurent Julien and Tondé were all busy this week with the complete reset of the bouldering area, the drytoolong tower (now used only for climbing) and the copyrock sectors of Murmur Pantin near Paris.
Right after the Eindhoven leg, Tondé will heading south to set for the Bouldering World Cup in Barcelona. Reinhard Fichtinger is the IFSC chief and other members of the setting team include Patxi Arocena.
Florian and Tondé have been invited to be part of the team of setters for the World Cup in Eindhoven that will be held in a square in the middle of the city.
The englishman Jamie Cassidy will be chief of a team of 8.
Tondé will be chief for youth nationals again this year seconded by Ptit Marc Daviet and local Vincent Bauza.
Tondé will be the instructor for the competition climbing course that is to be held at Altitude Gym in Hull, Quebec.
The canadian bouldering team will be training on circuits set by L'Ouvre-Boîte to prepare for the world cup event in Canmore.
Tondé will be zipping off to London for two days to set a 40 bloc circuit with Yann Genoux at The Arch.

The team at l'Ouvre-Boîte was braught together by the desire to improve indoor climbing through good setting. Some of us are trained climbing instructors, others are certified national or regional routesetters, skilled handymen, coaches, climbers, boulderers, some are all of the above, but we're all driven by good climbing born of good setting. Route setting courses
The main goal of our courses is to teach you how to avoid setting routes that suck, or the same route over and over again.
Drawing on our combined experiences we isolated setting ideas that were tried and tested and rolled them into our 3 or 4 day couses. We encourage our trainees cast a critical view on route setting, to better understand it's context and it's audience. We teach basic safety, practical route setting and D-I-Y techniques, as well as some basic wall management skills, but our course contents also include thoughts on how to develop creativity, to help renew and diversify your setting ideas.

Competitions
Setting for competitions
Competition setting has very different goals from regular setting in a gym. It's a lot less empathetic and tends to be a lot more spectacular.
Be it a World Cup or a friendly contest, let us be a part of the team to help make it a great event. The wager may vary, but for us, the enjoyment (and sweaty palms!) are always the same.
